The European project SOPHIE - Seas, Oceans and Public Health in Europe - aims at supporting a better management of the interactions between humans and the sea, with a special focus on human health.
As part of the project's activities, we are identifying case-studies that directly or indirectly promote the benefits of healthy oceans to human health and well-being. These can be solutions, initiatives or pilot actions implemented at local or regional level, to either foster the benefits (e.g. recreation, seafood and other sea-products) or reduce potential risks (marine pollution, contamination of seafood, bathing water quality) arising from the complex interactions between humans and the oceans.
By collecting and assessing these case-studies we intend to demonstrate innovative practices and identify the most promising interventions in the context of a changing world.
Please share with us any examples that you may be aware of or that you have been involved in, so that others may be inspired. The questionnaire should take approximately 10 min to fill in.
On behalf of the SOPHIE's Team, thank you very much in advance!
