Update your profile page on the university website (Faculty of Humanities)

On your profile page you can describe who you are and what you do at the university. The more complete your page is, the better your visibility on the website. This allows peers, students and journalists to find you based on your area of expertise.

With this form you can supply information for the various elements of your profile page. This information will be sent to the secretary of your institute.

Keep in mind!
There are certain elements of your profile page that we are unable to adjust for you, as these are automatically added to the website through other systems (e.g. SAP or LUCRIS). These include your name, function title, contact details and publications. Please go to this page for information about how you can update this yourself.

Organisation and research

It is important that you state where you work on your profile page. This allows e.g. peers to quickly see who is working within the same department.

Research keywords

You may select up to 6 keywords in total.

Please select 1 or 2 of the general keywords (these coincide with the six LUCL Research Groups you belong to and/or your work/research is most related to).
Depending on whether you have selected 1 or 2 general keywords, you may now pick 4 or 5 more keywords from the lists provided. You have the option to choose up to 2 keywords of your own, for example, if you cannot find the relevant keyword in the lists.

Please remember, the function of keywords is to increase your online visibility so that others (journalists, colleagues both within and outside your field, etc.) can find you more easily. That is why we ask you to choose most of your keywords from the list. If you input your own keywords, don't make them too specific.

Research

Are you currently involved in a research project? Or have you finished work on your new book? We can create pages on the website for these and add these to your profile page. Please indicate below what you would like to add.

Keep in mind: We are unable to edit the "Publications" tab on your profile page as this information is automatically loaded in from LUCRIS. You can add new publications yourself via your LUCRIS account: the "Publications" tab should update within 24 hours. If you have problems adding your publications or other LUCRIS related questions, please contact the key-user of your institute or mail the general Humanities helpdesk via lucris@hum.leidenuniv.nl.

Research project

Please download the research project template (found here) and send the filled out template, along with any other attachments, to webredactie@hum.leidenuniv.nl.

General information

Your general information is the first thing someone sees when they open your profile page. Here you can give a short abstract (max. 150 words) detailing who you are and what you do. It might be interesting to add any projects you are currently working on or your area(s) of expertise) to this.

Teaching activities

Adding the programmes you teach at to your profile page lets both students and lecturers know who teach at their programme. In case you are a PhD supervisor, you can also add an overview of the candidates you are currently supervising.

Are you active on social media? You can add these to your profile page so that peers see where they can follow you. We can also add blogs and other (personal) websites here.

You can add a photo of yourself to your profile page to help it stand out. This photo should meet the following requirements:
  • The photo is full-colour
  • The photo is at least 200x250px
  • The photo is high-resolution and in focus
  • The photo is a portrait photo where you are looking straight into the camera
  • The photo is representative for the university (it should not contain any distracting objects like sunglasses, instruments, pets, etc. or filters, stickers or other (disruptive) effects)
If you don't have a (high-quality) photo, there is the possibility to have your photo taken. The faculty organises photoshoots for employees each semester with a professional photographer. If you are interested in having your photo taken, please indicate this below. We will contact you sometime before the next photoshoot.
